Award-winning landscape photographers launch an exciting and innovative Tour of Northern Ireland…

2014-jd-giants-causewayTo capture the perfect photograph you need to have the complete picture.

That’s what makes The Northern Ireland Photo Tour so unique.

The brainchild of international, award winning photographers Athena Carey and John Dunne, this six day journey of discovery places an emphasis on outstanding photography while providing participants with the opportunity to experience the culture, people, and landscape of Northern Ireland.

Taking a memorable photograph is not just a matter of point and shoot, but a genuine understanding of and connection to a location.

“One of my great joys is teaching others the technical aspects of photography, how to find their own artistic vision; and then to harness the two together to express themselves through their photography” said Athena

Here are just some of the highlights The Northern Ireland Photo Tour has to offer:

  • Personalized photographic guidance from John and Athena in breath-taking locations with qualified local guides to enhance your experience through history and folklore.
  • The very best authentic local entertainment, quality cuisine, and a traditional, luxury four-star boutique hotel awarded ‘AA Hotel of the Year’ for Northern Ireland.
  • Visits to iconic landmarks like the UNESCO World Heritage Site Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, the fantastically foreboding Dark Hedges, as well as less familiar but equally captivating hidden gems.

“We want to provide photographers of all abilities with an opportunity to capture Northern Ireland’s myriad of stunning locations” explained John. “At the same time we want them to learn about the region’s rich heritage and culture and sample the best in local cuisine and entertainment – to get a true taste of Northern Ireland.”

Although creating beautiful photographs is the ultimate goal, the tour is about so much more. It’s the chance to indulge your love of photography whilst at the same time sampling Northern Ireland at it’s very best.

All levels of photographer are catered for, with two tours of no more than 12 participants, the first in June 2015, followed by another for more experienced photographers in September.
